== 申辦過程 ==
2012年11月8日，在第31届亚奥理事会会员大会上，越南[[河内]]将和印尼[[泗水市]]和阿联酋[[迪拜]]争夺赛事主办权。河内最终以29比14的票数击败泗水市胜出。迪拜在最后关头弃权，宣布把重心放在之后的申办中。阿联酋国家奥委会副主席否认弃权，表示迪拜“不申请举办2019年亚运会”，“只是考虑过”这样做。

2014年4月7日，越南总理[[阮晋勇]]正式宣布河内放弃举办，得到越南民众支持。他表示弃权的主要原因是毫无准备和经济衰退，国家无法负担设施和场地的建设费用。
