现任中国农业科学院上海兽医研究所猪病毒性繁殖障碍综合症团队首席研究员[2]。

1993-1996.1在美国华盛顿州立大学美国农业部动物疾病研究中心作为访问教授从事牛恶性卡他热病毒(牛III型疱疹病毒)变异的分子基础研究
1996.1-2007在哈尔滨兽医研究所兽医生物技术国家重点实验室从事马传贫强弱毒比较及弱毒减毒分子基础;鸡、牛和猪疱疹病毒基因工程疫苗及其强弱毒分子鉴别诊断方法的研究;猪生殖-呼吸综合征病毒致病及免疫机理的研究。
2007.10任中国农业科学院上海兽医研究所所长,从事猪繁殖与呼吸综合征的治病与免疫机制,以及猪流感病毒分子流行病学以及猪在流感病毒跨种间的感染过程的作用,以及伪狂犬病毒及鸡痘病毒载体多价工程疫苗的研究、以及哺乳动物疫苗的研究。
社会任职
曾任兽医生物技术国家重点实验室主任, 博士生导师;华中农业大学中国农业大学、华南农业大学和扬州大学等8所大学客座教授,黑龙江省政协委员,中国畜牧兽医学会兽医生物技术分会理事长。国务院政府特殊津贴获得者,首批入选"百千万人才工程"和农业部"神农计划"提名人,中国农业科学院跨世纪学科带头人,农业部有突出贡献中青年专家。863计划生物与现代农业领域基因操作主题专家组成员。
现任中国畜牧兽医学会动物传染病学分会、禽病学分会、畜牧兽医生物技术分会副理事长,中国微生物学会兽医微生物分会副主任委员,兽医生物技术国家重点实验室、家畜疫病病原生物学国家重点实验室和农业微生物国家重点实验室学术委员会委员,国家农业转基因生物安全委员会委员。
研究方向
多年来一直从事动物传染病病原流行病学及新型基因工程疫苗的研究,目前主要研究方向为猪繁殖障碍相关疫病(猪蓝耳病、猪流感、猪伪狂犬病、猪乙型脑炎等)的预防(动物用基因工程疫苗)与控制技术的应用与基础研究。

研究成果获国家科技进步二等奖2项,省部级自然科学奖、技术发明奖、科技进步奖14项;两项疫苗产品获得新兽药证书,8种基因工程疫苗获得转基因安全证书,获得国家发明专利23项;在国内外专业期刊上发表学术论文600余篇,其中在国际杂志发表190余篇,主编/参编著作11部;培养博士后16名、博士研究生63名、硕士研究生86名。
