液体的蒸气压随[[温度]]的升高而增大,当液体的蒸气压等于外界[[大气压]]时,液体内部产生大量气泡并不断逸出,在液体内部和表面同时发生剧烈[[汽化]]的现象。这种现象称为沸腾,此时的温度称为该液体的[[沸点]]。以水为例,一个大气压下,若水温达到100℃,此时水的蒸气压正好是1个大气压,水开始沸腾,100℃即是1个大气压下水的沸点。
