看台上，李梅素和何增生的手也紧紧握在一起。连续两届夺得全运会女子铅球冠军，李梅菊完成了前人无法完成的壮举。李梅菊说:"连夺两届冠军很不容易，我很激动。由于有些紧张，我前三投并不理想，我告诉自己，一定要放开去投。今天能拿金牌很高兴，但成绩也就是一般训练水平。"其实，何增生对这个成绩也不满意，他说:"她的成绩确实不理想，我满以为她能超过19米。"
