'''Rebel Melanie Elizabeth Wilson''' (born Melanie Elizabeth Bownds on March 2, 1980) is a celebrated Australian actress, comedian, and producer. After completing her studies at the Australian Theatre for Young People in 2003, Wilson began her career with a role in the SBS comedy series *Pizza* (2003–2007), followed by appearances in the sketch comedy show *The Wedge* (2006–2007). In 2008, she showcased her creative talents by writing, producing, and starring in the musical comedy series *Bogan Pride*.

Her move to the United States marked a new chapter in her career, where she quickly made a mark in the comedy films *Bridesmaids* and *A Few Best Men* (both in 2011). That same year, Wilson appeared in *What to Expect When You're Expecting*, *Struck by Lightning*, and *Bachelorette*, solidifying her presence in Hollywood.

In 2013, Wilson wrote and starred in *Super Fun Night*, a television sitcom that aired for one season on ABC. However, it was her role in the *Pitch Perfect* film series (2012–2017) that brought her widespread recognition, earning her a beloved place in the hearts of audiences worldwide.

Wilson’s career continued to soar in 2019, when she took on leading roles in the romantic comedy *Isn't It Romantic* and the caper *The Hustle*, while also delivering a memorable supporting performance in the acclaimed comedy-drama *Jojo Rabbit*. In 2022, she starred in the Netflix comedy *Senior Year*, further expanding her multifaceted career as both an actress and a producer.
