施文元,1962年6月出生,1984毕业于上海复旦大学遗传系,获学士学位,1992年毕业于美国威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校遗传系,获博士学位;现任美国加州大学洛杉矶分校牙学院口腔生物学系主任、教授;美国NIH,原核分子和细胞卫生学基金评审组在细菌信号传递方面的专家和永久成员。中国科学院国家杰出青年基金B类获得者[1]
