李定平，男，江西临川人，北京大学物理学院教授、博士生导师。1986年7月毕业于清华大学物理系，同年考入该系研究生，师从周光召院士，1989年9月毕业。次年赴意大利International School For Advanced Studies攻读博士学位。2003年至今，北京大学物理学院教授、博导。
