1994-1998，學士:上海交通大學，自動化系 (優秀畢業生)
1998-2001，碩士:清華大學，計算機科學與技術系
2001-2006，博士:美國北卡羅來納州立大學，主修計算機工程，輔修數學
2006年由上海交通大學引進。2009年獲得IEEE通信學會亞太區傑出青年研究獎(IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2009)。長期以來從事無線網絡編碼，認知無線電的研究。2007年於國外出版英文專著《Wired and Wireless Networks: A Transport Layer Perspective》(VDM V
erlag Publisher, ISBN: 978-3-8364-2772-2)。在IEEE雜誌和會議等發表論文60餘篇，申請專利10餘項。承擔國家自然科學基金、重點，科技部國際合作基金，教育部博士點、回國留學人員基金，上海市浦江人才、科技創新重點項目等10餘項。曾獲IEEE IPCCC"最佳論文獎"。
曾在多個著名國際會議、期刊上發布論文，包括:網絡研究的知名國際會議ACM MobiCom 2009，ACM MobiHoc 2009、2008，IEEE INFOCOM 2005;無線通信網絡的國際核心期刊如IEEE Trans on Networking 2008，IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing 2009，IEEE Trans on Wireless Communications 2009、2008、2007。
同時擔任多個國內外雜誌、中國計算機學會(CCF)A類期刊IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking , IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing ，ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks的編委 。
發表網絡研究的A類國際會議ACM MobiCOM 2012、2009 ,2014 , 2015 , IEEE INFOCOM 2014，2015 ，2016 ，2017 等20餘篇 , IEEE彙刊長文(regular paper)50餘篇 ，其中無線網絡的A類國際期刊 如IEEE/ACM Trans on Networking , IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing ，IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed System等20餘篇 。 申請國家專利30餘項 (其中美國專利1項 )，授權15項 。
Google Scholar引用統計超過4500次 ，H-index 36 ，入選愛思唯爾(ELSEVIER)發布的2014、2015、2016 、2017 中國高被引學者榜單。
2015年出版教材《移動互聯網導論》。 2017年出版《移動互聯網導論》第二版 。
