傳說[[天使長]]預言衣索比亞將於[[字母]]「G」開頭的首都達到鼎盛時期，在Fasilidas皇帝之前的統治者曾試圖在[[戈爾戈拉]](Gorgora)及Guzara建立首都，但在貢德爾才實現了這個預言。
