賴索托王國（英語：Kingdom of Lesotho），另譯萊索托，首都馬賽魯，位於非洲南方的內陸國，國土被南非所包圍。面積約30355平方公里。人口約220.6萬。官方語言為塞索托語及英語。通用貨幣為賴索托洛蒂(Lesotho Loti)。[1][2][3]
歷史沿革
1818年由莫修修一世(Moshoeshoe I)建立巴索托蘭(Basutoland)。
1843年成為英國保護地。
1966年10月4日巴索托蘭宣布獨立，並定國家名稱為賴索托王國(Kingdom of Lesotho)。 [1]
地理環境
國土面積約30355平方公里，是非洲南部的內陸國，全境被南非包圍。
全國80％以上的地區海拔高度為1800公尺，東部75%為山地，西部為地勢較為平緩的高原地形，境內主要山脈為馬羅提山(Maluti Mountains)和德拉肯斯堡山(Drakensberg mountain)。
主要河流為奧蘭治河(Orange River)、卡勒登河(Caledon Rivier)。
氣候屬亞熱帶的大陸性氣候。旱季為5～9月，雨季為10～4月。
世界遺產
賴索托與南非共同擁有馬羅提-德拉肯斯堡公園(Maloti-Drakensberg Park)這項世界自然及文化複合遺產(Mixed Cultural and Natural Heritage)。[4]
