1905年3月24日，凡爾納因糖尿病等疾病，安息在Longueville大道44號（現朱爾·凡爾納大道）的亞眠家中。他的兒子米歇爾·凡爾納繼續完成小說《大海入侵》《天邊燈塔》的出版。《奇異旅行》系列以每年兩部的速度又繼續了幾年。後來發現米歇爾·凡爾納大幅更改了小說，原版於二十世紀末由朱爾·凡爾納書友會出版。
