10岁时，米兰达受到加斯·布鲁克斯演唱会的启发，第一次参加了乡村音乐才艺比赛。2005年3月，发行首张录音室专辑《Kerosene》。2007年5月发行第二张录音室专辑《Crazy Ex-Girlfriend》。2009年9月发行第三张专辑《Revolution》，其中《The House That Built Me》和 《Heart Like Mine》均登顶美国公告牌Hot Country Songs。2011年11月发行第四张专辑《Four the Record》。2014年6月发行第五张专辑《Platinum》，该专辑被评为第57届格莱美奖最佳乡村专辑。2016年11月发行第六张专辑《The Weight of These Wings》。连续六张个人录音室专辑均登顶公告牌乡村专辑榜。
2017年4月2日，获得第52届乡村音乐学院奖年度女歌手；并创造连续八年获得该奖的历史记录。
