*另一說，因[[林占梅]]開始進行修築[[潛園]]的時間最早，而後[[鄭用錫]]才羨而跟進修築[[北郭園]]；且[[北郭園]]原址至1990年時已無片甲可尋，而[[潛園]]原址還遺留部分遺跡至2012年。故稱「台灣四大名園」，採此說的有[http://www.hccg.gov.tw/web/News?command=showDetail&postId=245140 新竹潛園]復健團隊等。
