2018年年底金門縣長選舉，國民黨傾向將自推人選，選擇不與同屬泛藍陣營的無黨籍縣長陳福海合作，引發關注。對此，一位熟悉金門政治生態的黨內人士表示，陳福海任內雖有不少爭議，但其善用行政資源籠絡人心，將傳統政治資源分配到「極致」，在選戰組織面「基本盤」上，仍佔有相當大優勢，國民黨想要贏回金門政治版圖，勢必將面臨一場硬仗。
