受惠於全球網路與交通的便利，以及物流行業的迅速發展，我們可以在生活中買到各地的產品。區塊鏈的加入，又推進了物流行業的進展，加速實現了智能物流的可能。所謂智能合約就是透過智能化技術，是物流系統可自行推斷、並解決過程中的某些問題。
就像許多行業一樣，物流行業也有訊息兼容、數據互通的問題。而區塊鏈正好能提供一個非常可靠、有效的訊息共享方式。根據區塊鏈不可篡改、去中心化的特性，讓區塊鏈所記錄的訊息具有可信度，若過程中出現問題，也能確定責任歸屬，避免糾紛。區塊鏈的應用，也可以進一步推動 “ 物流實名制 ” 的落實。
