<p ul style="textline-indentheight: 30px; linemargin-left:20px; list-style-position:outside;"><li><b style="margin-right:10px; margin-heightleft:30px5px;">2006年1月 </b> ，黃志芳獲陳水扁總統拔擢出任外交部長，2007年4月30日，中華民國成功與第25個[[邦交國]]，東加勒比海島國[[聖露西亞]]復交，並全面恢復[[大使]]級關係。2007年6月7日，[[哥斯大黎加]]政府宣布與[[中華人民共和國]]建交而與中華民國斷交，黃請辭外交部長負起政治責任，獲[[行政院長]][[張俊雄]]慰留。2008年1月14日，中華民國與[[馬拉威共和國]]斷交。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px10px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2008年5月6日 </b> ，因「[[巴紐外交公款侵吞案]]」爆發，黃志芳為承擔責任請辭下台。</pli></ul>
