<p ul style="textline-height:36px; margin-left:20px; list-style-indentposition: 30pxoutside; line"><li><b style="margin-heightright:30px5px;"></b>林有志出生於台灣，[[國立台灣大學]]政治學系碩士及[[國立東華大學]]公共行政碩士。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; line-height:30px"></b>於2003創辦花蓮觀護盃國際籃球邀請賽(前身是「觀護盃全國甲一級四強菁英挑戰賽」 ，。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; line-height:30px"></b>首屆在2003年舉辦，當屆有四隊參賽，2004年第二屆時有六隊參賽。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2005年 </b> 開始邀請國外球隊參賽，改名「觀護盃國際籃球邀請賽」，該屆有八隊參賽 ，。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2006年 </b> 之後則擴充到十隊參賽，是國內除了瓊斯盃之外最大型的國際籃球邀請賽，儼然已成為花蓮另一項傳統賽事)。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; line-height:30px"></b>支持地方體育賽事，如成立林有志服務處慢壘隊、林有志服務處排球隊等，積極參與地方賽事。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">1999年 </b> 父親往生，林有志將全數奠儀捐給[[ 弱勢團體]] 。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; line-height:30px"></b>於2018年於花蓮縣[[私立四維高中]]成立｢林有志體育獎學金｣，以校內優秀清寒的體育校隊學生為主要申請對象。</pli><p li><b style="textmargin-indentright: 30px5px; linemargin-heightleft:30px5px;">2020年3月3日 </b> ，任臺北市政府顧問並退出[[中國國民黨]]</pli></ul>
