索尔塔瓦拉 距[[彼得罗扎沃茨克]]西南287公里。
1468年首见于文献，[[英格里亚战争]]后归[[瑞典]]，1721年归[[俄罗斯帝国]]。1812年成为[[芬兰大公国]]的一部分，并随芬兰脱离俄国。后透过《[[莫斯科和平协定]]》回归[[苏联]]。
