王振山称，以往历届比赛都在[[北京、上海、广州、沈阳]]这样的城市举办，“这些城市都有很好的音乐学院，青岛虽然没有这样的院校，但去年的国际小提琴比赛已经让我们感到了青岛的诚意、信心与能力”，王振山表示，他相信青岛会将这样一个比赛带入一段更美好的历史。
