香草聯盟（Alliance Vanille）是2015年9月成立的航空聯盟，規模在寰宇一家、星空聯盟和天合聯盟之後（迄2018年）[1]。盟內所有航司皆營運印度洋航線，香草聯盟成員所在之地皆為加入印度洋委員會的主權國家或位處於印度洋的法國屬地。
歷史
- 2010年8月，塞舌爾、毛里求斯、馬達加斯加、科摩羅、留尼汪和馬約特島共同營運的「香草群島」向世界宣傳旅遊業[2][3]。
- 2012年，馬爾代夫旅遊部長應邀討論加入香草群島旅遊機構的計劃。但在2016年部長會議後，該組織仍未將馬爾代夫納入香草群島。值得注意的是，馬爾代夫維拉納國際機場與任何成員島嶼之間沒有直飛航班。香草聯盟的最初目標包括增加島嶼之間的航空服務、提升票價競爭力和優化代碼共享[4][5]。L'Estrac還建議成立一間廉價航空公司來吸引更多旅客[6]。最終，新聯盟希望加強該地區的旅遊、貿易和商業聯繫。南方航空、馬達加斯加航空、毛里求斯航空、塞舌爾航空和葛摩國際航空為該航空聯盟的創始成員。
- 2012年，印度洋委員會就印度洋地區航空旅行狀況舉行會議[2][6]。與歐洲諸國和加勒比地區的票價相比，印度洋地區的機票價格高昂，且航空公司的商業模式不可持續[4]。
- 2013年5月2日至3日，印度洋委員會在毛里求斯再次就相關事宜舉行會議。 2014年1月，委員會發表「印度洋之翼」，呼籲制定區域航空運輸聯合戰略，並指出創立航空聯盟將帶來的經濟利益[6][7]。印度洋委員會於2014年7月再次就旅遊和航空旅行問題舉行會議，之後成立了一個由航空公司高層組成的委員會和另一個民航當局組成的聯盟[2][6]。
- 2015年5月20日，印度洋委員會部長理事會在塔那那利佛舉行會議，承諾簽署建立聯盟的協議[8]。協議簽署日期原定為6月18日，但由於馬達加斯加航空總罷工事件，簽署日被迫延遲[4]。
- 2015年9月21日，南方航空、馬達加斯加航空、毛里求斯航空、塞舌爾航空和葛摩國際航空在塔那那利佛簽署結盟協議。時任印度洋委員會秘書長讓-克勞德·德·埃斯特拉克和馬達加斯加總統埃里·拉喬納里馬曼皮亞尼納出席簽字儀式[9][10][2]。
