1978.10--1982.07 南京農學院農學專業學生; 1982.09--1985.12 南京農業大學作物遺傳育種專業碩士研究生;

1985.12--2001.03 南京農業大學農學系助教、講師(其間:1994.03--1995.11 日本京都大學遺傳學專業博士研究生,1997.01--1999.12 日本農林水產省農業研究中心從事研究員工作);

2001.03--2003.07 南京農業大學生物科學與技術學院院長、農學院院長;

2003.07--2015.08 中國農業科學院作物科學研究所所長;

2015.08-- 中國農業科學院副院長(其間:2015年當選中國工程院院士)。

擔任職務

中國人民政治協商會議第十三屆全國委員會常務委員、農業和農村委員會委員。

研究方向

主要從事水稻的基因定位、克隆和品種選育研究。重點圍繞水稻品質、超高產、抗病蟲、抗逆等性狀,構建高密度新型分子標記圖譜,開展相關新基因的精細定位、克隆和遺傳轉化,並進行水稻功能基因組學、蛋白質組學和生物信息學研究;建立和完善分子設計高效育種體系,與常規育種相結合,培育具有市場競爭力的優質水稻新品種。

2000年以來,獲中國高校自然科學一等獎1項(2000),獲中國農科院科技進步二等獎3項(2002~2004),獲浙江省科技進步二等獎1項(2006),獲江蘇省科技進步二等獎1項(2007),獲國家科技進步一等獎1項(2010,第一完成人),申請專利及品種權23項,獲得專利及品種授權8項。撰寫專著3部,在國內外核心學術期刊發表論文200餘篇,其中SCI論文50餘篇。2001年獲得中國農學會"全國優秀農業科技工作者"稱號,江蘇省人民政府授予"江蘇省農業科技先進工作者"稱號,2002年獲得"江蘇省有突出貢獻中青年專家"稱號,2003年獲得江蘇省"五一勞動獎章",2005年獲得國務院特殊津貼和"農業部有突出貢獻中青年專家"稱號。2006年被評為人事部"新世紀百千萬人才工程"國家級人選。
