作者簡介
常任俠（1904-1996），安徽阜陽穎上人，藝術考古學家、東方藝術史研究專家。1931年，畢業於南京國立中央大學文學院並留校任教。1938年，到武漢國民政府政治部三廳從事抗日文化宣傳工作，為《抗戰日報》編副刊。1945年，應印度泰戈爾之邀，赴印度國際大學講授中國文化史。新中國成立後，先後任國務院華僑事務委員會委員，北京大學、北京師範大學、中國佛學院教授，中央美術學院教授兼圖書館館長。主要從事中國以及中亞、東亞、東南亞諸國美術史以及音樂、舞蹈史的研究，對中國與印度、日本的文藝交流史研究做出了開拓性貢獻。著作有新體詩《毋亡草》等，藝術史研究著作有《民俗藝術考古論集》、《東方藝術叢談》、《中國舞蹈史話》等，譯述有《印度的文明》、《中國服裝史研究》等。[1]
