夏菁(1925年10月16日 - )，出生於浙江嘉興，本名盛志澄（Ted C. Sheng），為「藍星」詩社發起人之一。[1]
1947年6月，來臺，為土壤保護專家。曾任職台灣省農村復興委員會多年。
美國科羅拉多州立大學森林和集水區研究所碩士。
1968年，應聯合國聘請前往牙買加服務，為聯合國糧農組織水土保持專家。
1984年，自聯合國退休後，曾任美國科羅拉多州立大學教授。後旅居美國。為美國《詩天空》（Poetry Sky）雙語季刊顧問。
目錄
創立「藍星詩社」
1954年，邀集鄧禹平、余光中、覃子豪等人創立「藍星詩社」，同年由藍星詩社出版第一本詩集《靜靜的林間》。[2]
1958年12月10日，發行詩刊《藍星》詩頁。曾主編《藍星》詩頁、《文學雜誌》及《自由青年》之新詩。
1985年，出版第一本散文集《落磯山下》。
1999年，出版詩與攝影合集《回到林間去：山、林人的融合》，融合攝影與文學傳達出對大自然的愛。
2004年，出版《可臨視堡的風鈴》第四本散文集，收集夏菁到可臨視堡，在大學執教以及退休以來的作品。

「具有新古典主義傾向的詩人」，寫詩主張「用字不妨經濟、淺近，內容則須新銳、深遠」。 [3]
檐滴 /Dripping from the Eaves
有一種語言/There is a kind of speech
勝過鄉音，/Sweeter than the native accent,
使你聞之淚下。/When you hear it you will shed tears.
從這個世界/And return from this world
回到另一個。/Back to the one you came.
家是一個──/Home is the place──
當聽到檐滴，/Wherever you hear
就會使你/Dripping from the eaves
酸鼻的地方。/Your nose becomes irritating.

一株黃鉛筆 /A yellow pencil
如此凸顯/Appears so outstandingly
在下午陰暗的書房/At my study one darkening evening
當昏鴉在榆樹上喚不回/When, on the elm, a crow’s cries cannot recall
西沈的太陽/Back the sinking sun.
我像拾回了一株標槍/I seem like to pick back a spear
投向靈感的中央/And throw it at the center of inspiration.
聞到遠山的消息/I smell a message from a distant mountain:
發出久違的松香/It is the pine fragrance long forgotten.
那新出土的嫩尖/And its earth-breaking tender tip
有一種蠢動的天機/Has an impulse from the Heaven.
忽然，使我眼睛發亮/Suddenly, my eyes are shinning.
我曾經陪伴它一段段/I have accompanied it with many segments
的歲月，短短長長/Of my life, and whether it was long or short
