采梢和舍利是制作侧柏盆景必须掌握的重要技法。采梢实际就是掐叶。因为侧柏的幼枝是由鳞状的小叶发育长成的，通过掐去幼嫩的枝叶，可控制疯长。同时梢也是组织口十态，规范树貌，美洁景观的惟一选择，通常是在实施截干蓄枝的基础上进行，和蟠扎互为作用。
