<p style="text-indent: 30px; line-height:30px">1929年（[[民国]]18年）2月，任[[甘肃省]]政府教育厅厅長。1931年（民国20年）12月，任[[綏遠省]]政府委員。1934年（民国23年）11月，
调任[[河北省]]政府委員。1936年（民国25年）8月，任[[国民政府]][[行政院]]秘書。翌年12月，作为出任[[貴州省]]政府主席的[[吴鼎昌]]的随从，来到貴州，任贵州省政府秘書長。
以後，直到吴鼎昌1945年（民国34年）1月退任贵州省主席，鄭道儒一直担任贵州省政府秘书长，辅佐吴鼎昌。</p>
<p style="text-indent: 30px; line-height:30px">从貴州回到国民政府中央之后，鄭道儒任行政院善後救济总署副署長。[[抗日战争]]结束後的1945年（民国34年）9月，鄭道儒升任[[吉林省]]政府主席。1946年（民国35年）6月，[[梁華盛]]代行主席职务，10月鄭道儒被免职（梁華盛继任）。1946年10月，调任国民政府文官处秘書，兼任綏靖区政務委員会委員。翌月，再任善後救
济总署副署長。1948年（民国37年）末，就任[[華北剿匪总司令部]]秘書長。</p>
<p style="text-indent: 30px; line-height:30px">[[第二次国共内战]][[中国国民党]]敗退，鄭道儒逃往[[台湾]]。1950年（民国39年）3月，任[[中华民国经济部]]部長，任至1952年（民国
