1999年一首《窗外》让人们认识了李琛。他在单亲家庭长大，虽然身有残疾却依然坚持音乐理想，最后终获成功，成为华语歌坛屈指可数的励志型残疾歌手之一。走红之后，他应邀担任了包括残奥会在内的多个大型活动和慈善组织的形象大使，社会活动和各类演出纷至沓来。之后，他陆续推出了两张个人专辑和多首单曲，有些歌曲还在曲风和题材上刻意求新求变，力争突破固有的形象。
