河津市位于山西省的西南部，运城市的西北角，汾河和黄河汇流的三角地带。东迎汾水与稷山县为邻，西隔黄河与韩城市相望，南有台地与万荣县毗连，北依吕梁与乡宁县接壤。地理坐标，东经为110度32分15秒至110度50分45秒。北纬35度8分17秒至35度17分至15秒，海拔高度在367.5公尺至1107公尺之间。河津历史悠久。
