羅斯·特里爾，中文名譚若思（英語：Ross Terrill，1938年－）是一位澳大利亞歷史學家和記者，中國專家，專長於中華人民共和國歷史。哈佛大學費正清中國研究中心的中國專家和研究員。[1][2][3]
生平
- 1938年出生於澳大利亞墨爾本，現居美國。
- 1962年畢業於墨爾本大學歷史和政治學專業。曾在澳大利亞軍隊服役。
- 1970 年在哈佛大學獲得政治學博士學位，他關於 R. H. Tawney 哲學的論文獲得薩姆納獎，後來由哈佛大學出版社以「社會主義作為獎學金」的形式出版。
- 同年開始在哈佛大學教書，1974年成為哈佛大學副教授。[4]
- 曾多次在美國國會作證，撰寫了許多文章，出版了九本書。
- 在美國哈佛大學的費正清中國研究中心擔任研究員，最近在德克薩斯大學奧斯汀分校以及澳大利亞莫納什大學擔任客座教授。[2]
